Greek Basket League round-up (week 20)

Kavala B.C.- Aris 71-77

Aris defeated Kavala in a tight game since the visitors could not take advantage of their good start, but Kavala was stressed and tired during the 4th. White scored 17 for the Emperor.

A.E.K.- A.E.N.Kifissias 76-73

AEK had offensive troubles and a terrible closing period, risking to lose the match at home, but Kifissia did not complete a huge comeback led by Hogg who scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Kalampokis added 13 for “Dikefalos”.

P.A.O.K- Panathinaikos 67-90

Panathinaikos had an explosive first half, leading 32-61, facing no trouble in finishing their opponents by the end of the 3rd. They appeared fresh, playing good basketball especially on offense, where the newcomer Williams led with 18 points. All that is left is to see whether the two new signings will be able to deliver and help players like Calathes and Gist to elevate the “Greens”.

Arkadikos B.C.- Apollon Patras 82-59

Arkadikos was again impressive, played great offense and forced Apollon to many bad offensive choices, easily defeating them behind Kavvadas double-double (23 points and 10 rebounds).

Koroivos Amaliadas- Olympiacos 65-84

Koroivos tried to stand against Olympiacos but the “Reds” used their deep roster and many solutions to change the pace multiple times, played tough defense and secured the win on the road, with Odum adding 17 points.

Trikala B.C.- A.G.O.Rethimno 87-58

The start of the two halves made the big difference in the game with Trikala scoring every way possible and AGOR could not follow, having their main players in bad shape. Stone had 16 for the winners but the only player who shinned for the home side was Ovi Soko with 22 points and 10 rebs, obviously not enough to save the day.

Lavrio G.S.- Kolossos Rhodes 84-73

With a partial 24-11 score during the second period, the home side got a safe margin that managed to maintain through their good defense and crucial shots behind the arc. Keselj was on fire with 21 points and 6-6 from inside.
