Memphis Grizzlies’ big man Zach Edey has been gaining momentum as the regular season draws to a close.

The towering rookie center for the Grizzlies has been a force on the glass, pulling down an impressive average of 16.7 rebounds over his first three games in April.

He also posted a solid double-double performance against the Lakers in late March, continuing to show his value as a physical presence in the paint.

Edey has embraced his role as an enforcer down low, thriving in matchups that demand grit and toughness.

“That’s always been my favorite type of game,” the center told Michael Wallace of Grind City Media. “These are games when refs let you play, let you bang, and it gets physical. That’s always been the kind of game I thrive in.”

Edey’s comfort with the more rugged aspects of the sport has made him an ideal fit in high-intensity contests where physicality isn’t just tolerated but expected.

Whether it’s boxing out for boards, setting bruising screens, or battling in the post, he’s shown he’s more than willing to get his hands dirty in pursuit of team success.
