After Round 33 of the 2024-25 EuroLeague, the postseason picture has become clearer, with 10 teams officially securing spots in the playoff race. As the regular season heads into its final round, the battle for the coveted top six spots is heating up, and the teams set for the Play-In Showdown are now confirmed.
Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, and Panathinaikos have all secured direct qualification to the playoffs. These three teams have consistently been at the top of the standings throughout the season, with Olympiacos leading the pack at 23-10, followed by Fenerbahce (22-11) and Panathinaikos (21-12). These sides are guaranteed to finish in the top three, ensuring they will have home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
As a result of their strong performances, Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, and Panathinaikos can now shift their focus toward seeding and home-court advantage. Round 34 will determine which teams join them in the postseason and who will secure the all-important top-four positions.
While the top three are confirmed, the rest of the playoff spots remain up for grabs. AS Monaco, Anadolu Efes, and Real Madrid are all vying for the fourth spot, which guarantees home-court advantage. Each of these teams has a 19-14 record, with AS Monaco currently holding the highest point difference.
FC Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, and Crvena Zvezda are also in contention, with the seventh to tenth positions set to be decided in the final round of play. These teams will have a chance to secure a spot in the Play-In Showdown.
For teams finishing in the seventh to tenth positions, the Play-In Showdown will offer a second chance to qualify for the playoffs. The seventh- and eighth-placed teams will face off in a single-elimination game to decide who advances to the quarterfinals, where they will meet the second-ranked team.
The ninth- and tenth-placed teams will also compete in a single-elimination game. The winner of this matchup will face the loser of the seventh vs. eighth game for the final playoff spot. The winner of that game will then face the top-ranked regular-season team in the quarterfinals.
The final round of the regular season, scheduled for April 10-11, promises to be packed with crucial matchups. AS Monaco will face ASVEL, while Fenerbahce will take on FC Bayern Munich in a key clash. Maccabi Tel Aviv will meet Olympiacos Piraeus, and Real Madrid will face Partizan.
Additionally, games between Baskonia and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, as well as ALBA Berlin and Paris Basketball, will further determine the final seeding. Zalgiris Kaunas will also face Anadolu Efes in a significant game that could influence the final positions.
