The Dallas Mavericks’ frontcourt is steadily regaining full strength just in time for the final stretch of the season. Anthony Davis recently made his return to the lineup, providing a significant boost.

Now, the team is set to get even deeper in the frontcourt, as both Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford are on track to rejoin the rotation next week.

Lively has been sidelined since January 14 due to an ankle injury, missing a substantial portion of the season.

Before his injury, the rookie had been making a strong impact, averaging 9.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game across 32 appearances, including 25 starts.

Meanwhile, Gafford has been out of action since February 10 with a knee injury.

Before his absence, the veteran center had been a key contributor for Dallas, putting up 12.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game in 51 contests, 28 of which he started.

Upon their return, Lively and Gafford are expected to share minutes at the center position, strengthening Dallas’ interior presence.

The Mavericks remain committed to utilizing Anthony Davis at power forward, allowing P.J. Washington to continue in his adjusted role as the team’s starting small forward.

With these reinforcements coming back, Dallas will have more depth and versatility in the frontcourt as they push toward the postseason.
