Draymond Green believes the Detroit Pistons’ future is in good hands. On The Draymond Green Show, the Golden State Warriors forward made a bold prediction, stating, “Imma say it here first, Cade Cunningham will bring a championship back to Detroit.”
Cunningham, now in his fourth NBA season, has emerged as the face of the franchise. The 23-year-old guard is averaging 25.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game while leading the Pistons to a strong season.
Detroit (41-32) is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, holding a 5.5-game lead over the Atlanta Hawks. They remain in a tight race with the Milwaukee Bucks (40-31) and Indiana Pacers (42-29) as the postseason approaches.
Green’s comments highlight the growing belief in Cunningham’s potential to restore the Pistons to championship contention. Detroit has not won a title since 2004, but their young star has positioned the team as a legitimate threat in the East.
With Cunningham at the helm, the Pistons are poised to make their first playoff appearance since 2019. If Green’s prediction proves correct, Detroit fans could soon witness a long-awaited return to NBA glory.
