Trae Young recorded a double-double with 28 points and 12 assists as the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 132-119 on Sunday night.
Zaccharie Risacher added 22 points, including a personal 13-0 run in the third quarter that helped Atlanta extend its lead. Georges Niang contributed 20 points, hitting five 3-pointers, while Dominick Barlow posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Onyeka Okongwu scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Dyson Daniels tallied five steals. Daniels became just the third player since 2000-01 to record at least 200 steals in a single season, joining Chris Paul and Allen Iverson.
Quentin Grimes led the 76ers with 26 points and six assists, while rookie Justin Edwards scored 22 points. Ricky Council IV added 14 points off the bench, and Guerschon Yabusele chipped in 11.
The Hawks shot 55% from the field and connected on 17 3-pointers. They also converted 19 of 22 free throws.
Philadelphia played without several key players, including Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and Joel Embiid. Edwards continued his strong play, averaging 21 points over his last four games while shooting 51% from the field and 48% from deep.
Risacher’s shooting improvement has been a key development for Atlanta. After struggling from deep early in the season, the rookie forward shot 44% from 3-point range in February and has hit 42% this month.
Young sealed the win by controlling the tempo and creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. The Hawks improved to 35-36, maintaining their hold on the seventh seed in the East, while the 76ers dropped to 23-48, sitting 13th in the conference.
