According to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, the San Antonio Spurs are currently in the best position for long-term success among the 11 NBA teams undergoing rebuilding phases.

The main reason for the Spurs’ top spot is the presence of highly touted prospect Victor Wembanyama.

However, Bontemps also highlights other potential future core players for the team, including Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, and newly acquired point guard De’Aaron Fox.

With the possibility of acquiring two more lottery picks this spring, the Spurs are well-positioned to continue building a competitive team.

In an interesting turn, Bontemps ranks the Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards at No. 2 and No. 3 in his rebuild rankings, respectively.

He commends the Hornets for their promising young talent, suggesting they have a solid foundation for future success.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls find themselves at the bottom of the rankings, placed 10th and 11th.

The reason for their lower standing is uncertainty surrounding the presence of a true franchise player to anchor the team and concerns over whether either franchise will be able to draft one in the near future.
