Draymond Green earned high praise from Steve Kerr after playing a key role in the Golden State Warriors’ 104-93 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Kerr highlighted Green’s defensive effort against Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was limited to just five field goals on the night. “Draymond, that defense tonight on Giannis was incredible,” Kerr told reporters, via ClutchPoints. “Draymond showed why he’s still one of the great defenders in the world and why he’s so important to winning night after night.”
Antetokounmpo finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists but struggled from the field, shooting 5-for-16. The Bucks shot 39.2% as a team and were held to just 17 points in both the second and fourth quarters.
Jimmy Butler led the Warriors with 24 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists, while Brandin Podziemski added 17 points and seven rebounds in a starting role. Golden State improved to 40-29 and remained sixth in the Western Conference despite missing Stephen Curry, who was out for rest.
Kyle Kuzma paced Milwaukee with 22 points, hitting five three-pointers, while Damian Lillard and Brook Lopez each added 16 points. The Bucks dropped to 38-30, falling further behind in the East standings.
Golden State’s defense proved to be the difference, with Green’s presence helping the Warriors hold off Milwaukee’s late push. “It wasn’t just the defense; it was the leadership, the energy,” Kerr said. “To respond like they did, to put together a win against such a great team in a game we really needed—that was huge.”
