Booker leads Suns to 40-point rout over Raptors

The Phoenix Suns dominated the Toronto Raptors 129-89 on Monday night, fueled by Devin Booker’s 27-point performance.

Phoenix (32-37) trailed by five after the first quarter but erupted for a 39-11 second-quarter run to seize control. Booker scored 13 points during a 15-2 surge to open the period, as the Suns built a 23-point halftime lead.

The Suns, playing without Bradley Beal due to a hamstring injury, had seven players score in double figures. Ryan Dunn added 17 points, while Tyus Jones contributed 15 points, including four three-pointers. Kevin Durant scored 14, Monte Morris had 12, and Nick Richards finished with 10. Royce O’Neale recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Toronto (24-45) struggled offensively, shooting just 35.6% from the field and 28.6% from beyond the arc. Scottie Barnes led the Raptors with 16 points, while Immanuel Quickley had 15 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Missing key players RJ Barrett, Gradey Dick, and Jakob Poeltl, the Raptors were outmatched from the second quarter onward.

Phoenix’s bench played a key role, outscoring Toronto’s reserves and extending the lead while Durant rested for most of the second quarter. The Suns hit 20 three-pointers and shot 51.1% from the field, securing their largest margin of victory this season.

With the win, Phoenix moved within one game of Dallas for the final play-in spot in the Western Conference. The Raptors have dropped four of their last five games.
