Panathinaikos Athens announced the arrival of combo guard Elliot Williams, who inked a contract with the Greens on Tuesday.

Williams (1.96 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Memphis of the NBA, where he averaged 1.6 points in 5 games this season. He has also played for Santa Cruz of the D-League this season, averaging 28.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6 assists in 21 games. Williams has also played for Portland, Philadelphia, New Orleans and Charlotte of the NBA, as well as for Delaware of the D-League. He helped Santa Cruz win the D-League title last season, playing alongside Panathinaikos centr Ognjen Kuzmic.

Williams is set to make his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut in Top 16 Round 8, when he will be eligible to play.

“As soon as I received Panathinaikos’s proposal, I immediately realized this is a great opportunity for me, to play in a high-level European team,” Williams said. “I have learned a lot about the team and my big goal is to give everything I have to continue the great tradition that Panathinaikos has. I want to win and I am looking forward to meeting everyone in Greece.”
