The Toronto Raptors have agreed to a two-way contract with Jared Rhoden, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto. Rhoden recently joined the team on a 10-day contract and is now set to remain with the franchise.

The 25-year-old guard has appeared in four NBA games this season for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 1 point in 3 minutes per game. He made one appearance for the Raptors, going scoreless in one minute of play.

While his playing time in the league has been limited, he has showcased his potential in the G League. Rhoden has split time between the Greensboro Swarm and Raptors 905 this season, averaging 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 30.3 minutes per game.

Across three NBA seasons, Rhoden has played 36 total games, averaging 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per contest. Toronto’s decision to sign him to a two-way deal gives him an opportunity to contribute at both the G League and NBA levels.

The Raptors are in the midst of a rebuild, currently sitting 13th in the Eastern Conference with a 19-42 record. With the team focused on player development, Rhoden could see increased opportunities in the rotation.

Scotto also reported that Toronto’s two-way center Orlando Robinson is a strong candidate for a standard NBA contract. The 24-year-old big man has been averaging 5.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1 assist in 15.7 minutes per game this season.

If Robinson is converted to a full contract, it would open another two-way spot on the Raptors’ roster. The team has been actively evaluating young talent as it looks to build for the future.
