The Washington Wizards reportedly gave “real consideration” to the possibility of trading for Bradley Beal at this year’s trade deadline, according to NBA insider Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

However, despite their interest, there was no indication that Beal would have been willing to waive his no-trade clause to facilitate a return to Washington.

Last month, reports surfaced that only two teams – the Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks – were seriously open to acquiring the veteran guard. However, Beal has also expressed hesitation about relocating, as he is reportedly reluctant to uproot his family by agreeing to a trade.

The 31-year-old guard remains under contract for two more seasons, with nearly $111 million left on his current deal. His long-term commitment and no-trade clause continue to make potential trade discussions complex for any interested teams.

Beal has played 13 seasons for the Wizards and Suns. He has averaged 21.7 points, 4.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 790 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 3 All-Star games.
