Murray leads Kings past Jazz with season-high 26 points

Keegan Murray delivered his best scoring performance of the season as the Sacramento Kings secured a 118-101 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

Murray finished with 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including five three-pointers, to help Sacramento (30-28) stay in control throughout the night.

Zach LaVine contributed 22 points, while Keon Ellis returned to the lineup and knocked down three triples, as the Kings connected on 15 of their 36 attempts from beyond the arc.

Sacramento also dominated the interior with 50 points in the paint and finished the game shooting 52.9% overall.

The game was tied 22-22 after the first quarter but the Kings took command in the second, outscoring Utah 33-24 to enter halftime with a nine-point advantage.

A strong third quarter widened the gap further as Sacramento’s ball movement generated open shots, keeping the Jazz defense on its heels.

Walker Kessler was a bright spot for Utah (14-44), recording a career-best 25 points along with 14 rebounds. The center was perfect from the field, making all 10 of his attempts, and added five assists.

K.J. Martin provided a solid boost with 16 points, but Utah struggled without Lauri Markkanen, John Collins, and Collin Sexton, who were all sidelined with injuries.

The Jazz were outrebounded 47-34 and had difficulty containing Sacramento’s balanced attack, which saw seven players score at least 11 points.

DeMar DeRozan had 19 points and eight assists for the Kings, while Domantas Sabonis added 12 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.

Malik Monk provided 13 points and nine rebounds, and Jonas Valančiūnas made a strong impact off the bench with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting.

Jordan Clarkson had a rough night for Utah, missing 13 of his 14 shots and finishing with just two points, avoiding his first scoreless game since joining the Jazz.
