Draymond Green stands by Warriors championship prediction

Draymond Green remains unwavering in his belief that the Golden State Warriors will win a championship this season.

Despite the team’s position in the standings, Green has repeatedly expressed confidence in their ability to make a deep playoff run. The addition of Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline has only strengthened his conviction.

During a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis, the veteran forward reiterated his stance. “I believe we got the pieces to do it,” Green said, via HoopsHype. “I’ve done it before—over and over and over. And I know what it looks and feels like. I 100% wholeheartedly stand, all ten toes down, on everything I said.”

Green first made his championship guarantee when the Warriors had a 28-27 record and were struggling to gain momentum. He pointed out that his belief in the team was not based on hindsight but rather on his understanding of what it takes to win at the highest level.

The four-time NBA champion also spoke highly of Butler, emphasizing the veteran’s leadership and attention to detail. “Jimmy is gonna come to you before something even happens—like, ‘If this happens, we’re gonna do this,’” Green said. “If you don’t love, eat, and breathe this—and, more importantly, winning—you can get frustrated with that. I can see, in two or three weeks—whatever it’s been—how someone could get frustrated with Jimmy. Because most people aren’t winners.”

Golden State has gone 5-1 since Butler joined the lineup, showing signs of turning their season around. The Warriors are currently 30-27, sitting ninth in the Western Conference and just 1.5 games behind the sixth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers.

Butler has made an immediate impact, averaging 20.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in 31.7 minutes per game. His two-way ability has provided a significant boost to Golden State’s lineup, giving them another proven playoff performer alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Green.

The Warriors still face an uphill battle in a competitive Western Conference, but Green remains unfazed. With Butler now in the mix, he continues to stand by his bold championship guarantee.
