Bucks edge Wizards in hard-fought battle

The Milwaukee Bucks secured a 104-101 win over the Washington Wizards on Friday night, overcoming Giannis Antetokounmpo’s foul trouble and a late push by the home team.

Kyle Kuzma, playing in Washington for the first time since his trade to Milwaukee, led the Bucks with 19 points. Brook Lopez and Antetokounmpo each contributed 18, with Lopez sealing the win by sinking two clutch free throws with 38.5 seconds remaining.

Antetokounmpo was limited to 19 minutes after picking up two early fouls in the first quarter and fouling out with 3:36 left in the game. His absence forced the Bucks to rely on their depth, especially with Damian Lillard sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

The Wizards, who have the NBA’s worst record at 9-46, remained competitive behind a career-high 22 points from rookie Alex Sarr. Khris Middleton made his Washington debut against his former team, scoring 12 points, while Marcus Smart, also playing his first game as a Wizard, finished with five.

Despite struggling offensively, Washington had a chance to tie the game in the final moments. Middleton attempted a desperation three-pointer but missed badly, allowing Milwaukee to escape with the victory.

Milwaukee dominated the paint, outscoring Washington 50-34. The Bucks also had the edge in shooting efficiency, hitting 47.6% from the field compared to the Wizards’ 40.2%.

With the win, Milwaukee improved to 31-24, maintaining its fifth-place standing in the Eastern Conference. Washington, meanwhile, suffered its seventh straight loss.
