Morant leads Grizzlies past Suns as Kevin Durant hits 30,000 points

Ja Morant powered the Memphis Grizzlies to a 119-112 win over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, finishing with 26 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

Desmond Bane added 20 points, while Jaren Jackson Jr. chipped in 17 as Memphis (36-17) built a 19-point lead before holding off a late Phoenix rally.

Kevin Durant made history by becoming the eighth player in NBA history to reach 30,000 career points after sinking two free throws in the third quarter. He ended the night with 34 points, but the Suns (26-27) dropped their fifth game in their last six outings.

Memphis dominated the boards, outrebounding the Suns 60-42 while getting 44 points from its bench, led by Santi Aldama’s 14 points and four three-pointers.

The Grizzlies have now won three consecutive road games for the first time this season, improving to 15-11 away from home and 21-6 in Memphis.

Phoenix, playing without the injured Bradley Beal, continued to struggle with its rotation despite a strong performance from Bol, who finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
