The NBA is eyeing a potential return to Europe in 2026 with an exciting twist—two games in two different cities. The league has expressed strong interest in expanding its international reach as it continues to grow its global fanbase.

During a recent call with international media, NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum revealed that the league is exploring the possibility of playing in two separate European cities next year. “We will be returning to Europe, and we’re looking into playing two games in two different cities,” Tatum confirmed, per Aris Barkas.

The NBA has long recognized the passionate fanbase across Europe, and it’s now eyeing cities that have shown a deep love for basketball. Markets like Greece, Turkey, and Serbia are being considered as potential host locations. Tatum mentioned that these areas, known for their enthusiastic basketball communities, are under evaluation.

“We know they are passionate fans in markets like Greece, Turkey, and Serbia, and we are evaluating the opportunities,” Tatum added. This signals that the NBA is keen on tapping into the growing demand for basketball outside of the U.S.

Paris has recently hosted NBA games. Earlier this year, the San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers played a pair of games in the French capital, both featuring blowout wins. However, the idea of expanding beyond one European city is a bold move.

As the NBA continues to develop its international strategy, Europe remains a key part of its future. While the locations of the games are still under consideration, the decision to host multiple events in different cities could further solidify the NBA’s presence in Europe.

The league has yet to announce a specific timeline for when the games would take place, but if approved, this move could mark the start of a new chapter for the NBA in Europe.
