The Houston Rockets snapped a six-game losing streak with a 94-87 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Dillon Brooks led the way with 19 points, while Jalen Green added 18 to help Houston improve to 33-20 on the season.
The Rockets overcame an early fourth-quarter deficit with a decisive 14-2 run that put them ahead 77-69 with just over seven minutes left. Green then hit two crucial three-pointers during a 9-3 surge that pushed the lead to 86-76.
Houston was missing Fred VanVleet for the fifth straight game due to an ankle injury, and Steven Adams sat out after playing Saturday. The team also lost All-Star center Alperen Sengun in the first quarter to back spasms.
Jeff Green stepped up in Sengun’s absence, scoring a season-high 14 points. Jock Landale also contributed 11 points and grabbed a season-best 10 rebounds.
The Raptors (16-37) suffered their fourth straight loss despite 20 points from Immanuel Quickley. Toronto struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 8-of-42 (19%).
Toronto led 66-62 early in the fourth before Houston took control. The Rockets dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Raptors 58-48, including 10 offensive boards.
Scottie Barnes finished with 15 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists for the Raptors, but he shot just 6-of-19 from the field. Ochai Agbaji had 11 points, while rookie Jonathan Mogbo added 10 points and six rebounds.
Gradey Dick exited in the second quarter with a neck bruise after colliding with Amen Thompson. He did not return and finished scoreless in 14 minutes.
For Houston, Amen Thompson contributed eight points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Cam Whitmore scored 11 points off the bench, while Aaron Holiday added six points and three assists.
Houston’s defense tightened in the fourth quarter, holding Toronto to 24 points while forcing several key stops. The Raptors’ three-point struggles proved costly as they shot just 36.7% overall.
