Tyler Herro led the Miami Heat with 30 points in a 108-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. Bam Adebayo contributed 18 points and 13 rebounds as Miami (25-24) secured the win in its first game since trading Jimmy Butler to Golden State.
The game took place amid reports of Butler’s trade, which surfaced during the first half. The Heat suspended Butler for the matchup, while Josh Richardson, who was also reportedly part of the deal, sat out due to a foot injury.
Tyrese Maxey finished with 31 points for the 76ers (20-30), marking his seventh straight game with at least 30. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 15 points and 11 rebounds, but Philadelphia failed to capitalize on Miami’s 22 turnovers.
Miami’s bench played a crucial role, outscoring Philadelphia’s reserves 57-29. Nikola Jovic recorded 23 points on 8-for-9 shooting, while Terry Rozier added 20 points and five rebounds. The Heat shot 47.0% from the field and 41.2% from beyond the arc.
The 76ers were without Joel Embiid, who sat out due to load management after returning from a knee injury on Tuesday. Paul George, playing for the first time in five games, struggled offensively, scoring nine points on 3-for-11 shooting.
Philadelphia, the NBA’s top three-point shooting team over the past nine games, opened 0-for-6 from deep and finished 12-for-40 (30.0%). Maxey hit three three-pointers but needed 28 shots to reach his 31 points.
Miami jumped out to a 29-25 lead after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 62-57 at halftime. Adebayo and Jovic combined for 25 points in the first half, helping the Heat set a season-high for points in the first two quarters.
The 76ers cut the deficit to two in the fourth quarter but never regained the lead. Herro’s deep three with under two minutes remaining put Miami up by six, sealing the win.
