Devin Booker delivered a standout performance with 32 points in his 200th career 30-point game as the Phoenix Suns dominated the Brooklyn Nets 108-84 on Wednesday night. Kevin Durant added 24 points against his former team to help Phoenix move above .500 with a 22-21 record.
Booker was highly efficient, shooting 14 of 24 from the field, bouncing back from a 15-point outing in the Suns’ previous loss to Cleveland. Durant extended his streak of 20-point games to 20, nearing the franchise record.
The Suns excelled despite missing Bradley Beal, as Nick Richards contributed 15 rebounds and eight points in his second start. Tyus Jones facilitated the offense with seven assists, while the team shot 47.7% overall and held the Nets to just 37.4% shooting.
Keon Johnson led the short-handed Nets with 20 points, while Jalen Wilson chipped in 15. However, Brooklyn was severely undermanned, missing key players like Cam Johnson, D’Angelo Russell, and Ben Simmons. The loss marked Brooklyn’s fifth straight defeat and extended its home losing streak to nine games.
Phoenix capitalized on Brooklyn’s struggles, dominating in rebounding with a 48-52 edge and limiting the Nets to 19.4% shooting from three-point range. The Suns’ bench also outperformed the Nets’ reserves, adding critical depth in the blowout win.
The Suns will look to build on their strong showing when they face the NBA-worst Washington Wizards next. Meanwhile, the Nets, now 14-31, continue to search for answers as they navigate a challenging stretch.
