The Miami Heat have announced plans to suspend Jimmy Butler for two games after the star forward missed a scheduled team flight on Wednesday.

Butler had intended to rejoin the team later that evening in Milwaukee to prepare for Thursday’s game against the Bucks.

However, the Heat have taken disciplinary action, ruling him out for Thursday’s game and Saturday’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets in Brooklyn.

This decision comes on the heels of Butler returning from a previous seven-game suspension, during which time the team struggled in his absence.

Upon his return, the player played in Miami’s last three games, contributing to the team’s efforts to stabilize their performance.

Despite this, his latest disciplinary issue has created further tension within the organization.

The situation has also intensified speculation about Butler’s future with the Heat.

League insiders suggest that Miami could consider trading the six-time All-Star ahead of the February 6 trade deadline.

With his name surfacing in trade rumors and his behavior raising concerns, questions are mounting about whether the Heat are looking to move on from one of their marquee players as they attempt to reshape their roster and build for a deeper playoff run.
