The Los Angeles Lakers are set to host the Washington Wizards tonight at Crypto.com Arena, but the team will be dealing with a significant injury list as they face off against one of the NBA’s most struggling teams.
As the Lakers look to bounce back from a loss to the Clippers on Sunday, they are managing injuries to five players, including superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Davis is listed as questionable with right calf soreness, while LeBron James is probable due to left foot injury management. The Lakers will also be without Jalen Hood-Schifino, who remains out with a left hamstring strain. In addition, Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Wood will miss the game as they continue recovering from right foot and left knee surgeries, respectively.
Despite the injuries, the Lakers (22-18) are holding onto sixth place in the Western Conference but have struggled in recent games, posting a 5-5 record in their last ten outings.
On the other side, the Washington Wizards are in full rebuilding mode and are currently mired in a 10-game losing streak. With a 6-35 record, they sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, and tonight’s matchup represents another tough challenge.
The Wizards will be without key players, including Marvin Bagley III, who is sidelined with a right knee sprain, and Saddiq Bey, who is recovering from left knee ACL surgery. Additionally, Patrick Baldwin Jr. is out on assignment in the G League, and Malcolm Brogdon is dealing with a right foot plantar fascia contusion.
As the Lakers look to capitalize on a weakened opponent, the team will need to manage its injuries and find ways to secure a much-needed win. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 PM ET.
