Celtics demolish Warriors by 40 points in historic blowout

The Boston Celtics (30-13) dismantled the Golden State Warriors (21-21) with a dominant 125-85 victory on Monday, marking Golden State’s worst home loss in 40 years. Jayson Tatum led the way with 22 points, while Kristaps Porzingis added 18 as Boston cruised to a statement win.

The defending NBA champions set the tone early, building a double-digit lead in the first half. The Celtics put the game out of reach with a 43-24 third-quarter explosion. Jaylen Brown chipped in 17 points, and Payton Pritchard contributed 14 off the bench.

The Warriors struggled mightily on both ends, shooting just 34.8% from the field. Stephen Curry was the lone bright spot for Golden State, finishing with 18 points, but Andrew Wiggins endured a dismal night, making only 1 of 11 shots. The Warriors also shot 3-for-24 from beyond the arc in the first half.

Golden State’s depleted roster, missing Draymond Green (calf), Jonathan Kuminga (ankle), and Brandin Podziemski (abdominal), couldn’t match Boston’s depth. The Warriors’ bench provided little relief, with Moses Moody’s 13 points being the highest among reserves.

The Celtics shot 53.3% overall and drained 20 three-pointers, displaying their elite offensive execution. Boston also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Warriors 50-38, while the bench contributed 47 points. Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet were notable contributors, scoring 11 and 8 points, respectively, while maintaining strong defensive pressure.
