Giannis scores 34 points as Bucks beat short-handed 76ers

Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered an outstanding performance with 34 points and 15 rebounds, propelling the Milwaukee Bucks to a 123-109 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night.

Milwaukee improved to 24-17 on the season, reaching a season-high seven games above .500 while completing a perfect 4-0 homestand. Damian Lillard contributed 25 points, while Khris Middleton added 13 points and eight assists off the bench.

The Bucks’ balanced effort saw Brook Lopez scoring 12 points and Taurean Prince chipping in 11. Despite cooling off from deep early, Milwaukee controlled the first quarter, building a nine-point lead.

Tyrese Maxey spearheaded Philadelphia’s offense, scoring 37 points and dishing out seven assists. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 19 points, while Ricky Council IV and rookie Adem Bona, making his first career start, contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Philadelphia, playing without key players Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Kyle Lowry due to injuries, fought back in the second quarter with a 10-0 run, briefly taking the lead. However, the Sixers’ shooting struggles and Milwaukee’s depth proved decisive.

The Bucks maintained control in the second half, fueled by Antetokounmpo’s efficiency (13-of-17 shooting) and strong rebounding. Lillard hit four three-pointers and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, keeping Milwaukee’s offense steady.

Philadelphia dropped its sixth straight game and ninth in 11 outings, falling to 15-26. The team’s depleted roster has been a persistent issue, with multiple starters and key reserves sidelined.

Milwaukee dominated the glass with a 48-38 rebounding edge and shot 49.4% from the field compared to Philadelphia’s 45.3%. The Bucks also capitalized on their trips to the free-throw line, converting 23 of 30 attempts.
