Murray, Jokic combine for 54 points as Nuggets cruise past Heat in Butler’s return

Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets to a dominant 133-113 victory over the Miami Heat on Friday night, improving their season record to 25-16. Murray scored 30 points, while Jokic secured his 17th triple-double of the season with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Denver’s offensive efficiency was evident as they shot 54.3% from the field and 48.5% from beyond the arc. Aaron Gordon contributed 16 points and six rebounds, while Michael Porter Jr. added 14 points and nine boards. The Nuggets’ bench provided a strong boost, with Julian Strawther scoring 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three.

Miami, now 20-20 on the season, welcomed back Jimmy Butler after a seven-game suspension. Butler recorded 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting but could not prevent the Heat from suffering their third consecutive home loss. Tyler Herro led Miami with 22 points, while Bam Adebayo contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds. Nikola Jovic added 16 points off the bench.

The Heat struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 9-of-33 three-point attempts for a 27.3% conversion rate. Denver’s defense capitalized on Miami’s inefficiency, forcing key turnovers and limiting second-chance opportunities.

Jokic’s triple-double extended his league-leading mark. Murray, meanwhile, showcased his scoring prowess with a 12-of-24 shooting performance, including four clutch free throws in the closing minutes.
