Charlotte Hornets head coach Charles Lee recently discussed what’s making Mark Williams be so effective as of late (averaging 27.5 PPG/14.5 RPG/3.0 APG/1.0 SPG/1.0 BPG/80.8% FG over the last two games).
(via Charlotte Hornets):
“Just dominating the paint and impacting the game with great physicality. I think that teams are trying to throw a lot of different coverages whether they’re up in pick-and-rolls, and he’s able to roll and he’s got great hands and great decision making for himself and for the team. I think teams are trying to switch every now and then, because our guards are able to kinda hit him on the roll. And then when he does that, he’s sealing those smalls. And if he doesn’t get it on the roll, he’s going to rebound and punishing the Reds. So, he’s just finding a lot of different ways offensively to impact the game and dominate the paint. And defensively, the same thing. I think that he’s kinda had an impact there and helping us rebound and finish possessions.”
