Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic is once again proving his consistency as one of the NBA’s top big men. The 34-year-old Montenegrin is averaging 20.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, marking his ninth consecutive season with a double-double.
After briefly dipping below 10 rebounds earlier in the season, Vucevic made it a priority to reclaim his place among the league’s elite rebounders.
“It really bothered me a lot that my rebounding went under 10,” Vucevic told K.C. Johnson. “As a big man, you have to do your job, which is to rebound. We are an undersized team, so I have to do a little more with that part.”
Vucevic emphasized the importance of his rebounding ability, calling it a strength he’s cultivated since his college days. His determination has paid off, as he has regained his double-digit rebounding form, which has been a staple of his game throughout his career.
Despite his individual success, the Bulls are navigating a challenging season and currently sit 10th in the Eastern Conference. With the trade deadline approaching, Vucevic’s name has surfaced in trade rumors as the team considers a potential rebuild.
As a veteran with a reliable offensive game and a strong rebounding presence, Vucevic is an attractive asset for contending teams. His ability to stretch the floor and anchor the paint could make him a key addition to a playoff-caliber roster.
