Garland and Mitchell propel Cavaliers to 7th straight win over Warriors

The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their winning streak to seven games with a decisive 113-95 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.

Darius Garland led Cleveland with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting, while Donovan Mitchell contributed 23 points, including five three-pointers. The Cavaliers, now boasting a 28-4 record, remain the league’s top team as they continue their West Coast road trip.

Dean Wade posted a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Jarrett Allen added 12 points and nine boards. Cleveland’s balanced attack also saw contributions from Caris LeVert, who scored nine points off the bench.

The game turned in Cleveland’s favor during a dominant 20-5 run late in the third quarter, sparked by Garland’s defensive play and efficient scoring. The Cavaliers capitalized on their opportunities, shooting 45.8% from the field and 38.3% from beyond the arc.

Golden State, now 16-16, struggled to find offensive rhythm, shooting just 33.3% from the field and 23.7% from three-point range. Moses Moody led the Warriors with 19 points, while Jonathan Kuminga added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Trayce Jackson-Davis chipped in with 16 points and a game-high 16 boards.

Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins were limited to 11 points each, while Dennis Schroder managed 12. Despite their efforts, Golden State has now lost four of its last five games and 13 of its last 17.

Cleveland heads next to face the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday before wrapping up their road trip against Dallas on Friday. For the Warriors, the loss marks another step in their downward spiral after starting the season with a strong 12-3 record.
