Cam Johnson’s late heroics propel Nets past Bucks

The Brooklyn Nets secured a thrilling 111-105 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, led by a stellar 29-point performance from Cam Johnson.

Brooklyn’s late surge, including a decisive four-point play by Johnson in the final minute, snapped their three-game losing streak in Milwaukee.

Noah Clowney delivered a breakout performance with 20 points, sinking six of his nine three-point attempts. Nic Claxton contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, while Shake Milton added a crucial 20 points off the bench. The Nets, now 12-18, shot 42.1% from beyond the arc, making 16 of their 38 attempts.

Milwaukee, missing Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard for the third consecutive game, relied on Khris Middleton, who scored a team-high 21 points. Brook Lopez added 20 points, though he was limited to just two in the second half after a dominant second quarter. Bobby Portis and Gary Trent Jr. chipped in with 18 and 14 points, respectively, as the Bucks fell to 16-13 on the season.

The game saw Brooklyn rally from a second-half deficit with a 7-0 run late in the fourth quarter to take a 99-97 lead. After Middleton tied the game, Clowney knocked down a clutch three-pointer to reclaim the lead. The Bucks pulled within one possession after Middleton’s triple, but Johnson’s four-point play with 47 seconds remaining effectively sealed the game.

Despite shooting 50.7% from the field and 39.5% from deep, Milwaukee struggled to contain Brooklyn’s perimeter attack.
