The Milwaukee Bucks are optimistic that Damian Lillard will not be sidelined for an extended period. He was unable to play in Friday’s game against Cleveland due to a right calf strain.

Although Lillard experienced some discomfort before the NBA Cup final, he still managed to put up an impressive 23 points in the game.

Coach Doc Rivers, speaking to The Athletic’s Eric Nehm, shared that Lillard could potentially return to action as soon as Monday’s game against Chicago, or shortly thereafter.

“He worked out on Saturday and felt pretty good,” Rivers added, suggesting that Lillard is close to making a full recovery.

Lillard has played 13 seasons for the Trail Blazers and Bucks. He has averaged 25.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in 864 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 8 All-Star games and has won the Rookie of the Year award.
