Cam Johnson’s 33 points propel Nets past Raptors in thrilling comeback win

Cam Johnson delivered a stellar performance, scoring 33 points to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 101-94 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night. Johnson’s late-game heroics, including a tiebreaking 3-pointer with less than two minutes left, sealed the win for Brooklyn after trailing by 10 points.

The Nets improved to 11-16 with the victory, marking only their second win in their last eight games. Toronto, meanwhile, fell to 7-21, extending their losing streak to six games.

Johnson was instrumental in the fourth quarter, pouring in 15 of his 33 points during the final stretch. His 11 consecutive points late in the game turned a 90-88 deficit into a commanding 99-90 lead with just 23 seconds remaining.

Nic Claxton, who scored seven points in just over 10 minutes, was ejected early in the second quarter after throwing the ball into the stands. Nets assistant coach Juwan Howard intervened to prevent further escalation before Claxton exited the bench.

Brooklyn saw balanced contributions from its roster, with Ben Simmons and Shake Milton scoring 12 points each, while Noah Clowney added 11.

Despite struggling from deep—hitting just 9 of 39 from beyond the arc—the Nets capitalized on free throws, converting 26 of 31 attempts.

Toronto welcomed Scottie Barnes back to the lineup after a two-game absence due to an ankle sprain. Barnes played 36 minutes, finishing with 16 points and six assists. Ochai Agbaji led the Raptors with 20 points, while Gradey Dick chipped in 19.

The Raptors connected on seven 3-pointers in the third quarter but went cold in the fourth, managing just one make from deep on 10 attempts.

Jakob Poeltl, sidelined with a strained groin, and RJ Barrett, out with an illness, were notable absentees for Toronto. Additionally, Davion Mitchell missed the game due to a shoulder injury.
