Perasovic stays at Cibona, will try to keep key players

Velimir PerasovicIt didn't take a long time for Cibona's president Ivo Jelusic and the coach Velimir Perasovic to reach an agreement to extend his stay at the club for another season. Immediately after the deal was made public, both the president and the coach made statement to the press.

Ivo Jelusic: "When putting things together you always start with the most important things, in this case the head coach of the team. I hope to God that we wil have the same successful season next year too."

Velimir Perasovic: "It was up to me to make a competitive team last season, which would succeed in all the competitions we took part in. I believe I achieved this and with the support of my family and the club's genuine desire to keep me I will continue working for Cibona."

"We only have 3 players with a signed contract for next season. We are not in a position to pressure players to accept our offers, as we are a small European club and the economical crisis makes it even harder for us. The three foreigner spots are essential to us, but the most important players are the Croatian ones and their prices are high for the moment so we will wait.

We want to keep Kus, Prkacin and Anderson, but it is still very early to talk about this possibility. Nevertheless we feel that we are in a better position comparing to last summer because the players' salaries are dropping and we have a better team."
