Chicago, IL – November 30, 2024 – Today, adidas Basketball announces a sponsorship program with Simeon Career Academy, the alma mater of adidas athlete and former NBA player Derrick Rose. The partnership will kick off at the start of the Varsity Basketball Season on Saturday, November 30th.
Located in Chicago, Illinois, Simeon Career Academy is home to multiple state basketball championships and has a long history of producing top-tier talent, including Rose himself. As part of the sponsorship, the Simeon boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will receive brand new jerseys, featuring the Derrick Rose and adidas logos, helping to equip the next generation of athletes for success both on and off the court.
“High school is where it all started for me, which is why I’m excited to announce the first Rose school with Simeon Career Academy. That foundation made me into the player and person I am today,” says Derrick Rose. “But this isn’t just about basketball—it’s about providing opportunity, inspiring the next generation, and showing young athletes that they can achieve anything.”
In honor of Derrick Rose’s enduring impact on basketball in the past, present and future, the Chicago Bulls will also pay tribute to the former MVP during their game against the New York Knicks on January 4, 2025. Prior to the game, Derrick will make a personal appearance at Simeon Career Academy to meet with the current student-athletes and offer words of encouragement.
