The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly preparing to make significant roster changes before the NBA trade deadline in February, with Dennis Schroder, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Bojan Bogdanovic as potential trade targets.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Nets may part ways with these veteran players to support their ongoing rebuild under first-year head coach Jordi Fernandez.
Schroder, who is averaging 20.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game, is in the final year of his two-year, $25.4 million contract.
His scoring consistency and experience make him a valuable addition for teams seeking backcourt depth as they push for the playoffs. At age 31, Schroder brings a veteran presence that several contending teams could utilize.
Meanwhile, Finney-Smith is also drawing attention from rival teams. The 31-year-old forward has one year left on his four-year, $55.5 million contract, with the final year being a player option.
Known for his defensive versatility, he is currently averaging 10 points and 5 rebounds per game, offering a skill set that many teams find attractive in their quest for defensive reinforcement.
Bogdanovic, 32, rounds out the list of possible trade candidates. The Croatian forward is on an expiring two-year, $39 million deal.
The Nets’ current standing in the Eastern Conference adds pressure to accelerate their rebuilding process. With a 4-6 record, Brooklyn sits seventh in the East. However, trading away these veterans could signal a shift toward prioritizing younger players and draft assets over immediate results on the court.
