Austin Reaves scored 27 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a commanding 123-103 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night.
LeBron James added a season-high 16 assists along with 19 points, recording his second consecutive triple-double. This marked the 115th triple-double of his career.
Anthony Davis, who scored 22 points, left the game in the third quarter after an eye injury from Jakob Poeltl’s off-hand while blocking a dunk attempt. Davis was ruled out after heading to the locker room.
The Lakers extended their perfect home record to 5-0 and defeated the Raptors for the second time in less than 10 days.
Toronto struggled, losing their fourth consecutive game and eight of their last nine. Chris Boucher and RJ Barrett each scored 18 points for the Raptors in the loss.
In the first half, the Raptors trailed by double digits. The Lakers pulled away after Davis’ injury, finishing the third quarter on a 16-5 run. The Lakers never looked back after taking the lead on rookie Dalton Knecht’s 3-pointer.
For the Lakers, this victory marks their first winning record through 10 games in four years, though Davis’ injury could impact their future performances.
