After the home loss against the biggest rival (Panathinaikos 89-94 Olympiacos), Cedi Osman honestly said that his team didn’t play well in the Greek derby, especially in the defense.
“We are all sorry we lost, especially against Olympiacos, but if I am honest, we didn’t play well tonight. In the past couple of weeks we really played well, but tonight we couldn’t reach that level, especially defensively we didn’t react well. They allowed them defensive rebounds, and those were our biggest issue in this game”, started Osman in Serbian.
“I am already two months here and I thought adaptation process would be much easier, but it isn’t. I really wish to adapt much faster so I can help the team. From this perspective, the NBA is totally different basketball, everything is different. After being 7-8 years in the NBA, I am used to 1 on 1 basketball. There you have much space, here you guard everyone, no matter what position he plays. You need to help your teammate defensively. You don’t have much space to play 1 on 1, so you need to work on some other things. That is why for my is not easy to get used to it, but I think I am getting there”, said Osman who played his best basketball after his arrival in Panathinaikos.
“This was my best game since I came here, but when you lost that is not that important. But it would be another story if we grabbed this victory. I am sad we didn’t but season is still young, we have much more games to play”, said Cedi who would need to buy a lot of tickets for his family members from Serbia in case his team reach Final four and if the host city would be Belgrade.
“I am not sure what are the options for Final four, but if one of them is Belgrade I would honestly like for us to play there. My mom is from Serbia, I have family there and it would be nice to play while there are watching. The first thing I would do if we reach Final four and if the host city would be Belgrade is to buy tickets for my family there”, said Cedi Osman.
