Leo Westermann staying in Limoges, not heading to short-handed Milano

Despite signing Bo McCalebb for the season, Limoges have reportedly not released Leo Westermann, preferring to add another player to the roster before letting him go.

Westermann was reportedly heading to EA7 Milano, who are preparing to compete in the Eurocup following elimination from the Euroleague regular season, but the French champions are keeping him for the time being.

“It’s not foreseeable to release Leo, because we haven’t completed yet our additions to the roster,” Limoges coach Philippe Herve told L’Equipe.

While Limoges boast two talented guards on their roster, EA7 Milano have been left short with the news that Robbie Hummel will be out for the rest of the season as he undergoes shoulder surgery.

Milano begin their Eurocup season with a difficult away game against ALBA Berlin.

“Bummed to say that I will be having surgery in New York tomorrow to fix my shoulder and won’t be able to play the rest of the season,” Hummel posted to his Instagram account.

He continued: “Just wanted to say thanks to all the fans in Milan for being great all year. Look forward to seeing [Milano] have a great end to this season and I am looking towards getting back to the court ASAP!”

Hummel averaged 7.6 points a game for EA7 Milano in the Euroleague, shooting 37 percent from three-point land.
