Dennis Schroder erupts for 33 points as Nets beat Grizzlies

Dennis Schroder led the Brooklyn Nets (2-3) with 33 points and eight assists, guiding the team to a 119-106 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies (2-3) on Wednesday night.

Cam Thomas contributed 19 points as the Nets improved to 2-3 for the season.

Jaren Jackson Jr. was the standout for Memphis, scoring 30 points on 10 of 12 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.

Ziaire Williams, who began his NBA career with the Grizzlies, added 17 points in a competitive matchup.

Despite a solid outing from Jackson, Memphis struggled with 22 turnovers, which allowed Brooklyn to capitalize throughout the game.

Ja Morant recorded 14 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds but had an off night, shooting just 5 of 16 from the field.

Rookie Zach Edey and Brandon Clarke each finished with 13 points for the Grizzlies. Clarke made all five of his shots from the floor.

The first half saw Memphis leading by as many as 20 points before Brooklyn began to chip away at the deficit.

In a pivotal moment, Schroder scored key baskets, preventing Memphis from building momentum during their attempts to rally.

Although both teams shot over 50% for most of the game, the Grizzlies’ turnovers proved costly. Brooklyn capitalized on Memphis’s mistakes, scoring 31 points off those turnovers.

The Nets struggled with turnovers as well, but they managed to control the pace in crucial moments, allowing them to secure the victory.
