The Atlanta Hawks announced that guard Bogdan Bogdanovic will miss at least one month following a non-surgical procedure on his hamstring at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex. The team revealed that the 32-year-old veteran will be re-evaluated in approximately four weeks, with a status update provided afterward.

Bogdanovic, who recently contributed eight points in the Hawks’ season-opening victory over the Brooklyn Nets, has become an integral part of Atlanta’s lineup since signing a four-year, $68 million contract extension in 2023.

The absence of the Serbian shooting guard opens up additional minutes and opportunities for Atlanta’s other guards, challenging the team to maintain their .500 start to the season.

Bogdanovic’s injury comes just months after a standout summer with the Serbian national team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. His performance during the tournament earned him a spot on the All-Second Team, where he averaged 18.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 4 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 46.2 percent from three-point range. He also set a new scoring milestone, becoming Serbia’s all-time leading scorer in international play, surpassing Milos Teodosic.
