The Dallas Mavericks are optimistic about the possibility of big man Maxi Kleber being ready to play in the regular season opener, as reported by Dwain Price of Mavs.com.

Coach Jason Kidd provided an update on Kleber’s condition, explaining, “He got hurt in September – right before camp. He stepped on someone’s foot and sprained his ankle.

“But his rehab and everything, he’s doing great. He had a great workout this morning, so he should be, hopefully, ready to go on opening night.”

Kleber’s return would be a significant boost for the Mavericks, who rely on his versatility and defensive presence in the paint.

The coaching staff is encouraged by his progress and remains hopeful that he will be able to contribute to the team’s performance right from the start of the season.
