Tyronn Lue has confirmed that Kawhi Leonard will not play in the Los Angeles Clippers’ final preseason game on Thursday.

Leonard has already missed all three of the team’s preseason contests, as he continues his recovery process.

When asked about Leonard’s current status, Lue emphasized that Leonard is focused on rehabbing and progressing through the necessary steps in his recovery.

“Continue to keep rehabbing. Keep getting better. Keep checking the boxes,” Lue said.

Leonard’s participation in the Clippers’ regular-season opener against the Phoenix Suns on October 23 remains uncertain, as he has yet to take part in any contact drills during training camp.

His health and readiness will likely be evaluated closer to the start of the season.
