Nuggets waive three players ahead of NBA regular season

The Denver Nuggets have waived Gabe McGlothan, Jaylin Williams, and Jahmir Young, as confirmed by the NBA transaction log. These three players were invited to the Nuggets’ training camp but did not make the final roster as the team prepares for the upcoming NBA season.

McGlothan, who spent his college years at Southeast Missouri State and Grand Canyon University, had a solid college career. He averaged 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and shot 40% from beyond the arc in his final season at Grand Canyon. McGlothan also helped the Antelopes reach their first NCAA Division I tournament victory. After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, McGlothan joined Denver’s Summer League squad, later signing with the Nuggets on July 31.

Williams, who played college basketball at Auburn, was known for his efficiency on the court. He finished first in Auburn’s all-time career wins with 114 victories. In his final college season, Williams averaged 12.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and two assists per game while shooting a career-high 57.4% from the field. Williams, like McGlothan, went undrafted in 2024 and joined Denver for the Summer League before signing with the team at the end of July.

Young spent his college career at Charlotte before transferring to Maryland, where he led the Terrapins in scoring and was named Second Team All-Big Ten in 2023. Young averaged 19.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists during his junior season at Charlotte, earning First Team All-Conference USA honors twice. After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Young played for the Nuggets during the Summer League and signed with the team on July 31.
