Bradley Beal: Suns energy “lightyears” better than last season

Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal has praised the team’s improved energy heading into the 2024-25 season. In a recent interview during training camp, Beal highlighted how the atmosphere around the Suns has drastically changed compared to last year.

Beal, who joined the Suns in a trade from the Washington Wizards last season, commented on how the positive vibe is already noticeable. “This environment now, it’s lightyears for sure better than what we experienced, everybody, from last year. It’s just a new energy,” Beal said, via Gerald Bourguet.

The Suns underwent significant changes since the end of the 2023-24 season. Head coach Mike Budenholzer took over after Frank Vogel was fired, and the team made key roster moves.

Beal expressed excitement about the additions made during the offseason. “We’re excited about the pieces that we added,” he said. The new players, along with the returning core of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, have contributed to the renewed sense of optimism.

Last season was a rollercoaster for the Suns, marked by injuries and inconsistent performances from their Big Three of Beal, Booker, and Durant. The trio didn’t play together regularly until late in the season, which hindered the team’s cohesion.

Despite the challenges, the Suns managed to secure a playoff spot but were swept in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In his first season with Phoenix, Beal averaged 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. However, injuries limited his time on the court, and he couldn’t fully integrate with his teammates during critical moments of the season.
