Nikola Jokić, one of the best (if not the best) basketball players in the World during his interview in Abu Dhabi before the pre-season games against Boston Celtics was also talking about Novak Đoković.
“Last time when I played with national team, we (Denver Nuggets) won the championship, so that doesn’t affect my shape, maybe only to get me in the better shape. But we can’t talk about that now, when season starts, we will need to see what it will be when the season ends”, said Jokić, who was compered with Novak Đoković because these two guys are the best Serbian athletes now-days.
“You need to be in the really great shape and focused on your body, and motivation is something that is always good to have. He is not chasing legacy, but the greatness. Novak is a special person, he is special athlete. He represents our country in the really high level for such a long time and we all feel that we want to be Novak Đoković. Just to represent us as he is doing. And we all think like we are like him, the best in the World”, said Jokić who thinks that no one is like Novak.
“We are not even close”, Jokić was so assured about Novak’s greatness and continued about motivation in the preparation period.
“I don’t think there is anymore motivation here, it is part of the job and you have to start preparation. The motivation is something you are gaining when the games are starting, with some achievements or some wins in the raw. You are gaining motivation during the season, not just before the season starts”, said one of the best NBA players in the last couple of seasons.
