Veteran forward Marcus Morris has chosen not to rejoin the New York Knicks on a camp deal, according to sources. After being waived due to financial implications from the Karl-Anthony Towns trade, Morris found himself in a position where making the Knicks roster seemed unlikely.

James Edwards III reported that Morris decided to pass on the Knicks’ offer and is now looking for a new team before the 2024-25 NBA season begins.

Morris, a seasoned NBA player, has experienced multiple team changes in the past year. On November 1, 2023, he was part of a significant trade that sent him, along with Nicolas Batum, Kenyon Martin Jr., and Robert Covington, from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Philadelphia 76ers. This move was part of a larger deal involving James Harden, P.J. Tucker, and Filip Petrusev.

While Morris spent part of the season with the 76ers, his journey continued when he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team deal at the trade deadline. However, he did not play any games for the Spurs and was waived by the team on February 29.

Morris then signed a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 18, 2024, and later secured a contract for the rest of the season on March 29.

He finished the 2023-24 season with the Cavaliers, contributing 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in 16.7 minutes between the 76ers and Cavaliers.

In September, Morris re-signed with the Knicks, the team he previously played for during the 2019-20 season. However, the reunion was short-lived, as he was waived on September 28 due to roster changes following the Knicks’ acquisition of Towns.
