The Los Angeles Clippers veteran Kawhi Leonard underwent a right knee procedure during the offseason, raising concerns as the team approaches training camp.

He will be limited during camp, and president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank is uncertain if he’ll be ready for the season opener. However, Frank expressed optimism about Leonard’s performance this season, noting that Leonard feels he’s improving.

Leonard struggled with right knee inflammation last season, missing the final eight regular-season games and part of the playoffs. He was also replaced on Team USA’s roster before the Paris Olympics due to health issues.

Last season, Leonard averaged 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 34.3 minutes per game, starting 68 games – his highest total since 2016. He signed a three-year max extension with the Clippers in January.
