Italian forward Danilo Gallinari, who concluded last season with the Milwaukee Bucks, remains a free agent but is not giving up hope of securing an NBA contract.
Gallinari, a longtime NBA veteran, is actively pursuing opportunities to extend his career in the league for at least one more season.
In an interview with ‘La Repubblica’ (h/t Cody Smith of Sports Illustrated) the 2008 Italian League MVP expressed his desire to continue playing in the NBA, stating, “A return to Italy? Not yet. There is still time for [me in] the market, anything can happen at any time.”
Despite being 36 years old, Gallinari is determined to contribute to a competitive franchise, keeping his options open for a potential return.
While there have been no concrete offers yet, Gallinari remains optimistic about his chances of landing with a team, saying, “It could be anywhere, as long as it’s a competitive franchise.”
Last season, Gallinari averaged 5.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game while splitting his time between the Detroit Pistons and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Gallinari has built a reputation as a reliable scorer and a versatile forward throughout his 15-year NBA career.
He has played for several teams, including the New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Atlanta Hawks, before joining the Pistons and Bucks.
