Ty Lue expressed confidence that Kawhi Leonard will be ready to go for the start of training camp with the LA Clippers.
Leonard has been recovering from inflammation in his surgically repaired right knee, an issue that sidelined him for the final eight games of last season and affected his availability during the playoffs.
Leonard had originally been slated to represent the United States in the Olympics, but due to uncertainty surrounding his knee, he was eventually replaced by Derrick White during the team’s training camp.
“I speak to him all the time,” Lue told ESPN last week. “He’ll be ready for [Clippers] training camp. He’s feeling good and I know he’ll be ready for training camp.”
