The New Orleans Pelicans have re-signed wing shooter Matt Ryan to a restructured one-year deal, just days after waiving him. This move comes as a surprise, as Ryan was initially released by the team four days ago.
NBA insider Shams Charania first reported the news of Ryan’s return to the Pelicans.
Last season, Ryan played in 28 games for New Orleans, averaging 5.4 points per game while shooting an impressive 45.1 percent from three-point range.
Ryan’s sharpshooting ability made him a valuable asset off the bench, particularly in limited minutes.
This restructured deal likely provides the Pelicans with some flexibility while allowing Ryan another chance to prove his worth in the NBA. The terms of the new contract have not been disclosed.
