Isaiah Thomas will participate in a workout with the Sacramento Kings this week, per Sean Cunningham.
The 35-year-old veteran point guard is among a group of free agents invited to Sacramento for competitive workouts with Kings roster players currently in town.
Fan favorite Thomas, who last played for the Phoenix Suns, appeared in six games this past season, averaging 1.3 points in just 3.2 minutes per game.
Joining Thomas in Sacramento are fellow free agents Tony Bradley, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Lonnie Walker.
The Kings are exploring their options as they assess potential additions to their roster.
Toscano-Anderson, who signed with the Kings in December 2023 before being waived in January 2024, will also take part in the workouts.
He appeared in 11 games for the Kings, averaging 0.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in 4.8 minutes per game before rejoining the Capitanes de Ciudad de México in the NBA G League.
Walker, another free agent in the group, spent last season with the Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 17.4 minutes per game.
Bradley, 26-year-old center/forward, has been out of the league since 2023. His career NBA averages are 4.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per game.
The Kings are seeking to bolster their roster depth as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Thomas, known for his scoring ability and leadership, will be looking to make an impact during these workouts as he seeks to secure a spot on the Kings’ roster.
The veteran guard, who was once an MVP candidate with the Boston Celtics, has faced challenges in recent years due to injuries and limited opportunities.
The upcoming workout with the Kings presents a chance for Thomas to prove that he still has what it takes to contribute at the NBA level.
Sacramento’s interest in bringing Thomas in for a workout signals their willingness to explore all options as they evaluate their roster for the 2024-2025 season.
It remains to be seen if any of these free agents, including Thomas, will ultimately earn a contract with the Kings.
